Happy New Year! We have come through the whirlwind of the holidays (and for us, the WOOSH of shipping the games out to all of you) and now the thing we have waited for is finally happening.
People (aka: YOU) Are Out There Playing The Game!
We know because so many of you have shared your pictures and stories directly with one of us! But we need your help! We'd really like to start building some community around Hype Tag, so we have a Discord Server where players can share stories, pictures, stategy, and ask questions with EACH OTHER! For those who are new to it, Discord is basically a chat room, a forum, a fun, place to interact on a shared interest. We have good rules there so that it's friendly, helpful, and even kid-friendly! (It's invite-only, so if someone is not conducing themselves in a kind and respectful way, we will show the the digital "exit door.")
How To Join Our Discord
Here is the invite link to join the discord. Just go to the link and introduce yourself in the #hype-tag-intros channel, read some of what's being talked about, and tell us about your experience playing, ask a question, post a pic, anything you want. Take it to the discord! Let others see your cool play, your game-ending scenario, or your question. The discord is new... and the game is new, so it really helps us to get some community and discussion going. And for those of you already in there, we appreciate you. Please keep posting.
Digital Rewards In Process
As promised, we are using January to create and share you digital rewards. If you are waiting on the portrait, theme song, zoom session, or print n' play rewards... fear not. It is all underway and we will update you very soon on delivery. NOTE: A few of you who are receiving a digital portrait have not yet emailed photos to me for Megan to use as reference points for drawing you. Please send those asap to jesse@hypetagcardgame,.com.

So much is happening in the Hype Tag universe! Here's the rundown:
Hype Tag has Shipped to 90% of Backers
All copies of Hype Tag earned during the Kickstarter campiagn were shipped in time for the holidays with the exception of a very small number of folks who haven't completed their Backerkit surveys. Special thanks to my family for helping get all of those packages out the very moment they landed on our doorstep! If you haven't received your games, please scan your email for that link from Backerkit and fill out the survey asap. Without it, we can not ship your games because we need your address and shipping payment info. I will get your package in the mail the very next day!
Get those awesome games out to those amazing backers!!
Hype Tag is on Shelves!
Hype Tag is on shelves at a couple of local game/toy shops! You can find it at Tom's Toys and Mana Crypt Gaming Center with more to come! Shout out to Tom and Chris for taking a chance on a new game. If you live nearby, please support these two amazing games stores if you're looking for a gift!
Ok, I literally stood at this very spot in Tom's Toys MANY TIMES over the last few years and pictured Hype Tag sitting there on the shelf. See it. Be it.

We have an early version of our web site up! Shout out to brother Todd for his patience and support in helping me make that happen. We have links to some essential items on the site right now with further development, aesthetics, and functionality coming in the next few months. Head on over there for links to everything you need to learn the game, buy the game, or discuss rules and strategy online.
How-To-Play Videos
Kate and I made a bunch of informative and fun How-To-Play videos! Although we are very happy with our rulebook (credit to Kelly!!), learning from a video can be a lot more fun than just reading. As you check out our videos on YouTube, please like, follow, and subscribe to our channel as it really helps us begin to grow our presence online. Thanks so much for your support! Pre-Order Store
As you all start playing, we hope you'll love the game and want to recommend it to your friends and family. We have a Pre-Order Store where folks can buy the game and receive it in the first two weeks of January. We wanted to give priority to you, our Kickstarter backers, so you are the only ones who we will shop to in 2022! After the start of the new year, this link will become a regular ordering platform for customers to buy and receive the game on a more normal shipping schedule. Soon, all of this functionality will be happening from our main web site. Many of you have asked if your local game store can buy copies of the game for resale. Yes! Just have them reach out to me at [email protected] and I can set them up with retailer pricing.

Come join the Clothespin Games Discord to ask rules questions, discuss strategy, and otherwise participate in the Hype Tag community. What is Discord? It's basically a friendly online forum where people with shared interests can interact about a hobby, game, etc. Our community is just getting off the ground but we have folks in there who know how to play the game and are ready to answer your questions, discuss strategy, or even talk about things like "What's your favorite piece of art in the game?" It's a lot of fun, it's respectful, kid-friendly, and is gaining more and more cool people each day.

Digital Rewards Coming in January
Those of you who earned digital rewards during the Kickstarter campaign will be receiving those rewards in January as promised. (This includes digital portraits, zooms sessions with Jesse, theme songs with personalized verses, print n' play versions of the game etc.)

Hype Tag Has Landed! First wave of backer games have shipped!

The games have arrived. And the are beautiful. Here's how I was feeling before the deivery truck had even left the driveway.

But the bottom line is:
HYPE TAG IS HERE. And it is ON ITS WAY TO YOU!
Ok, a few details to know:
•IF YOU FILLED OUT SHIPPING INFO IN BACKERKIT: Your games have shipped! And most should arrive BEFORE CHRISTMAS. It's a miracle. (See pics below of our crazy packing session!) If you log back into Backerkit (using the same link you used to fill out your survey) you will see tracking information!
•IF YOU CHOSE "LOCAL PICKUP" in BACKERKIT: We have your games! Please reach out directly to Jesse, Megan, or Kelly (whoever your closest point of contact is) to arrange to pickup your games. Please note that we have a lot of local pickup folks, so we need to ask you to take the initiative to come pick them up, otherwise we would be driving all over New England for days!
•IF YOU HAVE NOT YET FILLED OUT YOUR BACKERKIT SURVEY: Do so quickly and we will get these games out the door as soon as possible! Email [email protected] if you are having any issues.
UP NEXT:

Please Fill Our the Backerkit Survey to Receive Your Games! (Plus a quick shipping update.)

We are thrilled that 60% of our backers have completed the Backerkit survey. This will allow us to send out the games to you ASAP! Thanks!
If you have not filled it out yet, please check for an email from Backerkit and click on the link to complete the survey. This is necessary for us to fulfill your games and rewards.
Here is a quick FAQ for those wonder why or if you need to fill out the survey.
WHY do I have to fill out this survey?
The survey allows you to confirm your rewards, provide an updated shipping address, pay for your shipping, purchase additional copies of the game if desired, and answer a few silly questions to help us personalize some of the rewards (e.g., a digital portrait or a verse in the theme song).
Do I need to fill out the survey if...
...I am not getting any rewards? Preferably, yes. OR... you can email me at [email protected] to at least confirm that you have received our communnications. We want to know that at the very least, everyone who supported the project knows that the game is done and available. Your response also confirms that we have the correct email address so we can send you a thank you card!
...I am supposed to receive rewards, but I do not want them? Preferably, yes. OR... you can email me at [email protected] to let me know you don't want your rewards. I can then fill out the survey fon your behalf. (It takes two seconds for me and it's no problem.) In this case, your response tells us that you know the game gone produced and is avilable. It also confirms that we have the correct email address so we can send you a thank you card!
Can I purchase extra copies of the game?
Yes! When you are completing the survey, there is an option to "add-on" additional copies of the game if you would like to give it as a gift for a friend, family member, or your local game store!
SHIPPING UPDATE:
The shipment is going through final clearances (customs, etc.) which has taken a little longer than they estimate, but the trucking company has given us a doorstep delivery date of next Tuesday, 12/13. Kate and I are ready to turn those games around and ship them right out to you. So fill out those surveys and await the fun!

In the next day or two, we will open PRE-ORDERS! This will allow your friends and family who were not a part if the kickstarter to order copies of the game to receive in mid-January!

Having trouble with Backerkit's "Local Pickup" option? - Follow These Instructions

Thanks to those who have already submitted their Backerkit surveys!
For those of you having trouble with the "Local Pickup" option in Backerkit (the admit it's a bit clunky), here is a quick set of instructions so you don't see an "amount owed" for shipping when you don't even want it shipped!
1. Choose Local Pickup on The First Screen. It's the 6th entry down in the "Country" dropdown menu right after Germany (why?) and it's easy to miss.
2. Ensure Local Pickup is Selected Again. Go through the whole process until you get to the address screen. Ensure that "Local Pickup" is still selected from the country menu. If it's not, select it here. You still need to type in your full address, phone number, etc. including your state. Click on "NEXT."
3. PossibleUSPS Prompt: You might see a pop-up screen that suggests a slightly different "USPS" version of your addtess. Just accept that. (This screen may not appear.)
4. Click on the Blue "Submit Address" Button. This is the weird part. The final pop-up you will see says: "We cannot validate your address. Please submit your address or change it." Don't worry about this, just click on the blue "Submit Address" button at the bottom and it will take you to your final cart which should have no shipping charge.
At this point, just reach out to Kelly, Megan, or myself (whoever lives near you) to arrange for a local pickup time and place!
